Basic Rules - For (some) California Drivers
- Turn signals will give away your next move. Some California drivers never use them
- The faster you drive through a red light, the smaller the chance you have of getting hit
- Never come to a complete stop at a stop sign. No one expects it and it will result in being rear-ended
- Never pass on the left when you can pass on the right. It's a good way to scare people
- Speed limits are arbitrary figures, given only as a suggestion
- Always slow down and rubberneck when you see an accident. Use your cell phone immediately to report the event
- Learn to swerve abruptly. It prepares reflexes to avoid potholes
- It's traditional in California to honk your horn at cars that don't move the instant the light turns green
- "Flipping someone off" is considered a polite California salute. This gesture should always be returned
- Do not remove your bumper sticker, How am I Driving? Call 1-800-SCRU YOU
- Remember that the goal is to get there first, by whatever means necessary
